Joe Moore & Company, Inc. has served industry in the southeast for over half a century. In 1957, Joseph L. Moore, Sr. founded the company in Raleigh, NC. Moore initially focused his enterprise on refractory sales and installation for field erected boilers that powered North Carolina’s textile and lumber industries. He worked closely with Erie City Iron Works, York Shipley, and other major boiler manufacturers.

Joe Moore, Jr., after receiving his B.S. in mechanical engineering from NC State University and serving four years in the US Navy, worked for his father as a foreman, salesman, and assistant manager. In 1990, Joe succeeded his father as president. His sisters, Kathy and Frances, his son, Joe Forrest, and his nephew, William, currently help him supervise and carry out the daily operations of the company.

Although Joe Moore & Company is currently expanding, the Moore family and the Joe Moore & Company team remain committed to the business principles that have allowed the company to succeed and last. Integrity, quality, and excellent customer service continue to be priorities. From top to bottom, the company aims to build lasting relationships with customers so that the company’s future is as promising as its productive past.

Over five decades, Joe Moore & Company has expanded and diversified to meet the needs of a wide range of customers. In the 1970’s, the company began fabricating custom refractories for special applications, and, in 1980, it obtained an NBIC "R" Stamp and ASME “S” Stamp which permitted expansion into boiler and pressure vessel repair. Over time, the company’s service territory has broadened to include North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee. Despite continuing growth and persistent competition, Joe Moore & Company has remained a successful family owned and operated business.
